i really do...

have a life that is quite busy lately. it's just that my joy has been in decorating for the dinner party i am having on Halloween. it's been a fun release.

so far these are my two favorite decorations. if you don't know, i have loved marionettes for years, especially Pinocchio. i actually already had a couple of Pinocchio's before we went to Italy. then in Italy we stumbled upon an entire Pinocchio store! it was marvelous. i really only bought one more and the book in Italian. i am not sure why i like him... i just do. maybe because he is such a mess... but at the same time in his heart he is so good and true..

i admit, i have abused him a bit. this is my very first Pinocchio, purchased in Mexico. he drives me nuts because he falls apart all of the time. i can not tell you how many times i have glued his nose back on! so i picked this one to dismember for my spooky house look. he really does deserve the harshness he is enduring this month.



my other favorite, so far...
this is all of my old stuff. i love it all. most of it is from my grandma, the box is actually filled with costume jewelry that was hers'. bobbles that i delighted sneaking into as a child. i would imagine i was a lavish lady of the 30's or 40's in a night club wearing these fine jewels... smoking, drinking, being sophisticated... oh the images of childhood. also my baby spoon is here, it looks so old! oh age... and some actual medicine bottles that i found years ago at an estate sale. it just all fits my spooky house theme quite well!


they would look better if i could actually learn to take a picture without a flash.
alas, i need michael for that.
