blog worthiness

Okay i just have to take advantage of the free internet in our hotel lobby this afternoon!

arising as early as always nesscessary fly out of Central Oregon we drove to the airport with it snowing quite heavy. then we spent the entire day in Seattle airport waiting for our cross country flight. this was my view most of the day.

i also had a fun time seeing how many velour sweatsuits i could spot. this is a bit of a family joke, we are all perplexed what it is about this outfit; accessoriezed with high heeled pumps that scream to women AIRPORT WEAR! Obviously it was a bit of a boring day for me while Bill feverously got in his last few hours of work i agreed to allow in.

we arrived at at 10:00 p.m. last night being surprised, like we always are, at what balmy warm air feels like. NOURISHMENT to the soul!

here are a few pics from my view this morning, catching in the few hours here at the beautiful hotel/resort we spent our pre-cruise night at.

as you can see the weather is perfect. it is hard to comprehend the idea of throwing on a suit at 9:00 a.m. and heading to the pool. seems pretty normal for Miami! it was 80 already!

oh and my NON RETURNABLE bling watch actually fits here and almost looks good. it is kinda starting to grow on me. what can i say, i had to wear it in Miami of all places for Bill's sake!

we are hoping to by some internet on the ship and get blogs in for all of our devoted readers.

it's simply great getting Bill away, he is even starting to notice me and let down, a wee bit. maybe he will even have a drink once we board the Eurodam!

love you all stay safe.

i'm so sorry

you can use my lack of posts as a scale to measure how busy and out of focus my life can get!

i did charge my camera (that i got for Christmas) finally tonight and will get back on here, promise. there has been so much going on. work is busy (still the end of the year in my world of accounting) , house for sell, therefore constant vacuuming, i got a promotion with Operation Christmas Child so i will be busier year round with that now, trying to find time to tan (unsuccessfully) to be ready to show skin on vacation...

which happens tomorrow! we fly out tomorrow and will be aboard the beautiful Eurodam by saturday afternoon. we hope to share about our time a little on here. it may be sketchy, internet & ships don't mix so well, but we will try.

here are a few pictures from the last time we were in the Caribbean, it was a long time ago... years... I love this picture of Bill, so JFK! and then a pun on the beautiful fleet of Holland America; the cruise line i rally enjoy, a lot!

not much longer now...

till we enjoy that lovely ocean above.
on the Eurodam departing 02.14.08...

a favorite place

i have a handful of EXTREME favorite places. it's my guess that many of you that read this can guess about three of them. i also think that every single one of you can guess one for sure no doubt.

it's a place i have been going since i was about 4 or 5 that i will never tire of. it looked like this when i first went. although i remember it in color.

well this love/obsession is shared with my sweet little sister and a couple of close friends (Randy & Darlene). Darlene is aware of the fact that i am a tiny bit blue because Bill is down in LA with Michael right now and if I was with them... we would be at Disneyland! instead they went to boring old dinner and a movie... bah!

anyway Darlene sent this to cheer me, and it did! in my world this is pretty magically awesome. and yes... i do believe in the Disney Magic, really.

a day to be thankful

i do apologize for the long length between my posts. having all of the kids home for a belated Christmas celebration riddled with horrible flu... then the year end/first of the year bookkeeping duties. it just about put me under! i even got ANOTHER new camera, but have not even cracked it open yet.

i so dislike blogging without a picture to attach! so sorry... none here.

i am just super warmed and touched in my heart today and have a desire to shout out and rejoice!

even though i did not vote for our new President (remember i am a bookkeeper in a small business in Oregon, taxes ARE an issue in my life!) i am delighted to be living a piece of history that i will always remember. i so wish my father could have seen a black american become the leader of our great Nation. even though i was raised in the 60's and 70's, prejudice did not exist in my home and for that i am thankful. i celebrate with this Country on our new leader and wish him the best in making it into the dream he does believe in. we all know, the job is already one of the most difficult there is.

secondly. i have had the extreme blessing today of repairing a relationship that has been hurt, broken and lost for much to long. i have a true need for a deep friendship with this dear friend. i love her like my sisters and am thankful we have begun the road of restoring what was lost.

this heart that is often a lot more empty and hurting than most of you know... is filled with love and joy today.

for these i am thankful.

okay... i found a picture. i love this shot.

the best thing in the world

is spending the day in my kitchen cooking, with my entire family sitting around the table and sound of them arguing over and over while playing the game apples to apples.

yes, it's the best. i like it.

what a difference...

a week makes. yes this is the same yard one week later! it's amazing what a huge mess a lot of snow, rain, warmer temps can make.

also it is SOOOOOOO WINDY today. i am trying to figure out if this ENORMOUS tree that is right next to our house looks like it's leaning? i think it does! oh wind go away.

snugly warm inside though. Christmas is almost here for us! tomorrow at this time our entire family will be home together and we can celebrate the time of year that, for several reasons, brings us together. i am looking forward to it.

so that's why the stockings are all still hung here, waiting to be stuffed... tomorrow night!

yay!
